A Salute to Sherlock Holmes
Below is a beautiful set of Sherlock Holmes paper dolls and outfits, created by Tom Tierney exclusively for the Southern California mini-convention of September, 2000. Sherlock Holmes is modeled after Basil Rathbone; Dr. Watson bears the likeness of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The set consists of five dolls and fifteen costumes. These dolls (above and right) depict Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Holmes. They are approx. nine inches (23 cm.) tall.

This Sherlock Holmes doll, handmade by Lisa Halverson, is 38 inches tall (seated). Lisa puts incense in the pipe, and Sherlock appears to be smoking! Below is "Sherlock" in his dressing gown, relaxing in his Baker St. flat.

Below is another doll made by Lisa: Basil Rathbone as Sir Guy of Gisbourne, from "The Adventures of Robin Hood."

The two pictures below are of a 54 mm tall hand-painted collector character figure of Sir Guy of Gisbourne.
